Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tirol AG
and Raiffeisen-Bankengruppe Tirol
Despite difficult market conditions, in 2013 RLB Tirol AG managed
to increase its profit from ordinary activities by 3.3 per cent to 25.6
million euros. Our lead bank’s tier 1 core capital ratio of 12.2 per
cent is well above the Basel III requirement of 7 per cent. RLB
alone held a 2013 balance sheet total of 7.29 billion euros, and the
aggregate balance sheet total together with the Tyrolean Raiffeisen
banks stands at 18.1 billion euros.
With a customer share of almost 50 per cent, Raiffeisen-Banken-
gruppe Tirol remains the clear market leader. Together with the
78 independent Raiffeisen banks, RLB Tirol has almost 340,000
customers.
Top rating and number-one financing partner
In 2013, RLB was rated by international rating agency Moody’s for
the first time. Its score of A2 with a positive outlook is the best rat-
ing assigned to any Tyrolean bank. As a result of RLB’s partnership
with the European Investment Bank (EIB), an EIB loan of 50 million
euros has been made available for onward lending by RLB Tirol
AG to small and medium-sized enterprises (mid-cap companies) in
Tyrol. This once again underscores the high financing capability of
the Tyrolean Raiffeisen sector.
Equipped for the future
On 1 January 2014, the body of regulations known as Basel III
entered into force for all banks in the European Union. Among the
provisions are significantly more stringent capital adequacy and
liquidity requirements. During the previous year, Raiffeisen-Landes-
bank Tirol AG made all necessary preparations for their introduction,
including putting in place the requisite technical and organisational
arrangements.
Continuing success together
RLB Tirol AG and the Tyrolean Raiffeisen banks will continue
pursuing their successful policy of focusing strongly on our regional
customer base and our role as a reliable partner for the domestic
economy. In line with this, we make sure that money from the
region is used for the region. Raiffeisen’s spectrum of services
is rounded off by companies specialising in the provision of
comprehensive, expert advice for private and business clients.
Important sponsor
Alongside their role as modern providers of banking services,
RLB Tirol AG and the Tyrolean Raiffeisen banks also have a long
tradition of charitable work and educational, cultural and sports
sponsorships in its marketing territory. Examples include the
Tiroler Sozialmarkt Innsbruck (a cut-price grocery market), Caritas,
the Red Cross, the Tyrolean theatre group Tiroler Volksschau-
spiele Telfs, the New Orleans Festival, numerous schools and
sports clubs and many more.
The three annual exhibitions staged by the gallery RLB Kunst
brücke and the RLB Kunstpreis, an art prize awarded every two
years worth 18,000 euros, make a major contribution to the lively
Innsbruck and Tyrolean cultural scene.
Fire service-friendly employer
Every two years, the Austrian federal firefighters association
(Bundesfeuerwehrverband)
presents the award for fire service-
friendly employer. For the first time, the award has gone to the
Raiffeisen-Bankengruppe Tirol, whose policy of releasing
employees for firefighting duties has made an important
contribution to this vital service.
Outstanding training organisation
With 52 trainees who have successfully completed their training
with Raiffeisen, our trainee initiative has been a great success.
Eight of these trainees do their training with Raiffeisen-Landesbank
Tirol, a number set to rise to nine in August 2014. In 2013, the
Tyrolean state government presented RLB Tirol AG with an award
for its role as an outstanding training organisation.
